Isola farm, Holmetorp Öland
This is a course for those who want to paint portraits in oil. Both for those who want to try for the first time and for those who want to continue to develop your portrait painting under Niklas guidance. The focus will be on creating form and realistic skin tones rather than portrait likeness. Niklas will go through how to prepare canvas, mix colors and handle brushes and painting medium. The exercises involve not only painting but also some drawing. We will learn to see and depict shadows, halftones and light from portrait photos. Portrait photos adapted for the course will be provided on site. Demonstrations are interspersed with individual guidance and own painting. We have access to a newly renovated course room at Isola farm throughout the course weekend.
The course runs on Friday from 13:00 to 16:30, Saturday from 9:30 to 17:00 and Sunday from 9:30 to 15:00

Includes course and all meals. Accommodation not included.

Morning and afternoon coffee is served in the course room. Lunch is served in another room on the farm.

Isola studios is run by artist Niklas Elgmo and offers art sales and art courses. You will find us at Isola farm in Holmetorp on Öland. Here we build our creative business. A meeting place for creation. Here you can visit Niklas studio and participate in painting courses. The newly renovated course room is also transformed into a gallery in connection with e.g. Konstlandskapet Öland and Ölands Skördefest. In the coming years, we will also open the doors to a separate gallery and guest studios.
